U.S. Foodservice National Safety Championship
Nearly 60 U.S. Foodservice drivers and warehouse employees have competed in local safety rodeos and are among the “best of the best” who will compete at the U.S. Foodservice National Safety Championship in San Antonio, August 20 – 22, 2010.
U.S. Foodservice contestants will demonstrate their knowledge of safety and operating procedures in a written examination before getting behind the wheel on a specially-designed course in San Antonio’s Freeman Coliseum. Competitors must first identify equipment defects and safety hazards that have been purposely planted on their truck to test their knowledge of vehicle readiness. Contestants’ driving skills are then tested during several simulated driving scenarios. Winners will receive plaques and cash prizes.
